The E.170 is our full-power enduro EMTB, developed and tested in the same Dyfi terrain that shapes every Atherton bike. Build 2 has top tier performance, without the frills. Rockshox Ultimate level suspension and SRAM's GX Eagle Transmission means this setup can keep up with just about anything, and anyone.
Powered by the Avinox drive system and built on our S-Range 7075 aluminium chassis, the E.170 combines compact, high-power assistance with balanced handling and proven durability. Every decision is filtered through the same standards we apply to our race bikes and park bikes, not just what looks good on paper.
The Avinox drive unit was the obvious choice for the Atherton EMTB. The compact motor layout lets us keep geometry and weight distribution exactly where we want them. Power delivery is controlled and predictable, and when it comes to outright torque for tackling the steepest, gnarliest ascents- nothing else comes close.
Rather than chasing maximum battery size, the focus is usable range for real mountain riding, without turning the bike into a heavy, slow-handling machine.
On flat pavement, that means headline figures over 136km (apparently). In the Dyfi backcountry, it’s good for around 2,000 metres of elevation. Final capacity figures will be confirmed at launch.
The battery is fully housed inside the downtube for protection and clean design. It is not intended for trailside swapping, but can be accessed easily for service or travel. Every frame size uses the same full-capacity battery, no half measures.

Pre-order bikes are scheduled to begin shipping from April to May 2026, once production starts at the end of February.
Pre-orders allow us to secure parts and start building earlier, so delivery is sooner than standard production timelines after launch.
You pay a £1,000 deposit when placing your order. The remaining balance is due at the end of February 2026, just before production begins. You will receive an email with a secure payment link for the final balance.
The pre-order bikes are only available to purchase through card payment or bank transfer. Our full selection of payment options will be available once the bike has officially launched.
Yes. You can cancel your order at any time before production starts and receive a full refund of your deposit. Once production begins and the final balance is paid, our standard cancellation and returns policy applies.
We have limited the number of bikes available for pre-order so that we can also offer bikes at the official launch in April.
If you miss the pre-order window, you will still be able to order at launch, subject to availability and standard S-Range production lead times.
You can also sign up for stock notifications to get early access when launch bikes become available.
Minor changes may be possible before production starts, depending on timing and parts availability. Once frames enter production, changes become very limited. If you are unsure about sizing or spec, we recommend contacting our sales team before placing your order.
Yes. Our full configurator with additional component options will go live before the official launch. Pre-order bikes are offered in fixed builds to keep production and delivery timelines on track. If want to tweak your build to somehting more bespoke, you may prefer to wait until launch.
We recommend using our Fit Calculator (at the top of this page), which is based on rider measurements and riding style. Most riders choose a similar size to their analogue MTB, although some prefer slightly shorter reach on an EMTB for a little more agility. If you would like help choosing, our sales team is happy to advise.
The battery is housed inside the downtube to protect the battery and maximise chassis strength. It is not designed for trailside swapping, and must be charged 'on bike', but it can be accessed easily for service and transport when needed.
All Atherton frames come with a lifetime warranty for the first owner and are tested to EFBE Category 5 standards, the highest strength classification for mountain bikes.
Demo opportunities will be rolled out after the official launch in April. If demo access is important to you, you may prefer to wait until after launch.
